===Learning About the Holocaust with Marsha Goren, Part Two===

First impressions.

The fourth grade students of the Glass Class were asked to write down the first thing the came to their minds after the interview with Marsha Goren. They had a lot more to say, but the following entries represent their first impressions.

Marsha' mom was branded on her arm by the Nazis. -Madison

Someone wrote some special music to represent the Holocaust. (We can listen to it again on Marsha's web site.) -Morgan

Marsha's mother was only 66 or 67 years old when she died. -Kierra and Heather

Sonia was 16 years old and taught kindergarten. She was taken to a camp called Migadenik. She was one of very few who survived. -Luis and Bailey

When Sonia was little, her family was very poor. -Jordan

Her dad dug a hole under his house to hide from the Nazis. He ate sand to survive. He wanted to live and the Nazis didn't find him. -Dylan

Marsha's mom was a grateful person all of her life. She died of cancer when she was 67. -Makenna

People were branded (that means burned) with numbers. -Bryce

Marsha's mother was 15 or 16 years old when she was a helper in a kindergarten. -Kate

The Nazis took thousands or millions of kids. -Uriel

Her mom was born in 1924. She did not have a shower in her house. -Shadaw

Before Marsha's mom died, she told her to teach kids to be kind. -Kylie

The people in the camps had to work all day every day. They did not get a day off even if they were sick. -Ethan

Marsha's mom got branded at the camp. -Aden and Jessica

Her mother was very poor. -Tyler and Harrison

Marsha is an English teacher in Israel. -Francisco

The Holocaust is an important part of history. -Keaton
